County of Maui - State of Hawaii Seal

Maui County Celebrates Relationships with the World through the Sister City Organization.

The Sister Cities program was initiated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. Maui County is one of nearly 2,500 communities in 126 countries involved in Sister Cities International, and has been coordinating student, educational, cultural and economic development exchange programs since 1964.

We have done our best to find the official tourism sites for these cities. The dates by the country below indicated the time Maui County adopted a resolution making the city a Maui Sister City. For more information on how to become involved, please call 808-873-8246. Bringing the World to Maui. Bringing Maui to the World.
