2009 Young Artist Showcase

Congratulations to Beri Jhon Lizoda
of Quezon City, Philippines. Beri has been selected as one of the Sister Cities International Youth Art finalists.
Sister Cities Internatioal received 65 submissions from 13 different countries.
Out of this pool ten winning pieces were selected. These pieces, including Beri's, will be featured at their annual conference, in our Young Artists Showcase tour, and on the Maui and International websites.
Congratulations to Shen Kai Gandolfo
Winner of Maui Art Showcase The winning Maui artist received $300 from the Maui County Sisters Cities Foundation. The art now is entered into the International competition. Good Luck to Shen.

At Hawai‘i Nature Center on Saturday, March 21st, all Maui entries in the Sister Cities International Young Artists Showcase, “Your Path to Peace,” were displayed. Entries are original works submitted by 13-18 year old student artists in a variety of media.
The contest judges: This year we were honored to have two fine art painters, Davo "Tavo" and Pamela Neswald as judges. Davo is a dynamic artist whose personality shows in his art. He is represented by Images Fine Art Gallery in Lahaina. Pamela Neswald besides finding time to paint her favorite topic of women surfing, she is the owner of Upcounty Fine Art Supplies and Gallery in Makawao. In additon and in a true gesture of generousity, Davo has donated on of his paintings, "Kam 5 B-Day" was awarded as a special prize to Kayleena Blas.

A special thanks to Sean Ribucan and family for making the award winning Fundraiser Chili at our foundation's event. A special thanks to the Maui County Sister Cities Board Members for helping serve chili. An an extra thanks to Jamba Juice for setting up a drink booth as well. 20% of the proceeds of the drinks went directly to our foundation. MauiTeeBags.com also gets kudos for their donation to our group.
